A Coastal Gem With a Rich History

Christine's journey includes rescuing a Victorian house in East London and a Georgian townhouse in Devon. After moving to Bath, their adventure continued when Andrew’s sailing enthusiasm led them to Weymouth, renowned for its exceptional coastline.

In the summer of 2020, Christine and Andrew discovered Seasides, a Georgian property with immense potential. With its grand proportions and prime location, they saw the opportunity to transform it into one of the most exceptional holiday homes in the UK.

The property, built around 1805, is a Grade II* listed building and part of the iconic Pultney terrace. This blue-painted terrace with oriel bow windows is situated at the southern end of the seafront, overlooking Custom House Quay. Historically, Seasides has served various purposes, from council offices and a tourist information center to HMRC’s bonded warehouse. It even appeared in the film Dunkirk.

After a period of restoration, refurbishment and reimagining Christine and Andrew’s hard work was rewarded with a thriving calendar of bookings and many guests returning year after year. 

Seasides is not just a place to stay, it’s a piece of history. Trains carrying passengers onto the Channel Islands ferry once ran outside the back door. The old railway platform remains and now serves as a pleasant pedestrian walkway. A memorial plaque on the terrace commemorates American troops who embarked from Custom House Quay during the WWII D-Day landings. 

The previous owners restored Seasides around 2014, and it now stands as a beautifully restored home, blending historic charm with modern luxury. Christine takes pride in styling and maintaining the house, while Andrew ensures the latest technology is seamlessly integrated.
